Reflections on a Challenging Week

04/16/10 17:25, by , Categories: Personal Reflections, My Life
Well, it is Friday evening and time for supper but the week is not over. This has been a strange and challenging week for me. Perhaps the power of last Sunday led me to a let down this week. Perhaps I have not spent enough time really one on one talking to God. Maybe its just that I've been overtired and busy. Whatever the reason, it has been a challenging week. By midweek I knew I was struggling as I saw my patience deteriorate and my attitude slide some. Usually I have a plan and list to accomplish each week and while I have had a ton to do, I never got to a lot of it because things kept coming up. So much came up in fact that I wasn't even able to get to all the things that came up. So here it is Friday and the sermon is still being finished and there is still more work to do for Sunday. I was hoping to avoid having to do any work tomorrow because it is our anniversary, but I may have to do some. In some personal time I took with God today to try to revive, the lesson was on deserts and how God uses them to remind us of our need for Him and dependence on Him. The sermon I'm preparing is about the sorrow of God. I guess I get it. Well, I need to go spend some time with the family and then after everyone goes to bed, hopefully I can finish things up so that I can take the day tomorrow to spend with my family and my wife of 11 years. ***UPDATE*** My daughter just put on one of her "shows" for her mom and I. It featured her doing some dramatic Bible readings as well as an art contest, some music, and a display of a manger scene. That was awesome. Leave it to the kids! Thank you Lord!
