Looking Ahead

After a dry spell, two posts today!!! Friday and back in the office. This is going to be a full day! First order of business has been to catch up on email and computer tasks this morning. Got the church website updated, checked email, and of course am posting blog entries. Also high on today's agenda is recording three or four radio shows for the next month. This weeks will be Memorial Day theme. Next week will be called "Reunion" and then at least one more would be good to get done today. I am looking forward to being back this Sunday. Last Sunday was busy traveling. We will celebrate Memorial Day this Sunday with a message titled "Gift of the Dead." I am excited about this message and look forward to sharing it. COMING UP. Next Sunday is going to be a great day with a different service format. We will hear from Jan Rockwell who speaks for Gospel for Asia. This is especially timely after the tragedy in Myanmar/Burma. We will also be recognizing our graduates and having a graduate luncheon immediately following the service. That at 2pm, Western Maine Christian Academy will be hosting their graduation at BCBC. Two of our youth group girls, Emily Ross and Sophie Quigley will be graduating. On June 1st we have some more excitement. Karen and Edie are going to be with us for Sunday School. They will be doing a drama/role play that should be very interesting to everyone. Then morning service will feature the first of a new series, "Word". I am very excited about this series. I have been working on it for a month now. It is based on an in-depth word study I did on the word "word". I learned a lot doing the study and it really spoke to me so I hope that it will really speak to everybody. DID YOU KNOW we have an awesome church!!! And it's not awesome because we are such wonderful people or are especially talented, or have a great pastor, or do everything right. No, it is an awesome church because God is among us and He is working. His work is often despite of us, but it is there. I see His hand, hear His voice, and I get excited. We are GOD's people! and that is awesome!!!!!

Dear Rev. Hall, Greetings! My husband Daniel, children Dana & Brian will be traveling to Maine (my home state)early next month, and may attend services at BCBC on June 8. I grew up in the BCBC, when Pastor Fulton was there, and my grandmother - Gwendolyn Masterman taught me and many other children during summer Vacation Bible School. The church was in its original location across the road at that time, and each time I've returned to Maine (we live in north Florida)I've wanted to "take a peek" at and share with Daniel where my walk with God began. Daniel was raised in the Baptist faith as well, yet we are now Episcopalians and members of the Diocese of Florida. My husband is the director of operations at the Camp Weed & Cerveny Conference Center in Live Oak, the Web site is listed above. From what I've read on your site, I see the many wonderful ways that God is working through your church and the blessings he has bestowed on you and your church family. My niece Kate Nichols is graduating from Mt. Blue High School on June 7 (the reason for our visit), and I would like to ask your prayers for her as she moves ahead into the next chapter of her life. We look forward to meeting you - God's Peace to You! Ann & Daniel McMullen 1057 Camp Weed Place Live Oak, FL 32060
