Ira, this is so true. I just added Twitter and reactivated my Myspace, but nothing replaces face to face interaction and the pouring forth of our time and love into these kids' lives! I didn't know you had a blog. I shall bookmark it and keep apprised.

Absolutely on target my dear brother-in-law. Tho I can't claim the great number of years that you have in youth min....I have certainly seen the same thing and been blessed to work with youth leaders who knew that relationships (rather than all the hype of technology or cool music or games or any of those other efforts to draw students by emulating the culture) are the basis of discipleship and evangelism. Keep working hard for that balance.

I to have been in youth ministry over 20 years. I to feel the same way. The methods and tools may have changed over the years but the need has stayed the same. Students as well as adults have a need to be 'loved-on' in a personal way. The Lord calls us out to live that type of lifestyle! May we continue to use the tools the Lord has given us but not use them so much that they isolate us from building bridges to people in a descipleship lifestyle!
